Sturdy box, needed a few brackets at the bottom as the back where the screws go seemed a bit flimsy, easy to use.

This is an excellent strong postal box useful for small packages and mail. The door rattles a bit which makes you feel the lock is not the strongest, but it seems to do. Only issue is, my husband lost the first key within weeks and I am down to the last one and thought to get it copied however, Timpsons said its not on their regular keys and then looked at a huge thick book of keys shapes and said it was not in there too. A retired locksmith then walked into the shop and said it may be a struggle to find, we could not find it from replacementkeys.co.uk and they normally have all the keys so that means buying a new lock and keys and having to fit that so beware if you are a family that tend to lose keys!

I have been a locksmith since 1983.This item is very poor quality, made from extremely thin steel (not even as thick as a simple cashbox).The worse aspect by far is the the quality of the actual lock, it's awful (see photo).The lock is made from extremely soft alloy and it wears out after a short period of time.Best avoid.

The lock is flimsy and of poor quality. It takes some juggling to insert the key and to turn it and there is a fear it may break in the lock. The box itself is sturdy.

OK. The post box is really good. Not massive, and won't take bigger parcels, but really useful. However, because we have cctv, we were able to work out why the lid was open when we got home. Out of the first 4 uses, the lid was not closed properly on 2 occasions. The postman can be seen shutting the lid, but then walking away without closing it properly. It would therfore lift by itself as he walked away. The answer was - to remove the dampers. This is easy to do, by removing the caps and pulling them off the mounts.
