DIssapointed with Support
I got 3 SanDisk Pro Blade 4T and one Pro Blade Transport, totaling about $1000, because I've heard great things about them, and I needed a storage solution. I installed them fine, with no problems. I loaded them up with everything I needed backups of, and the next day, NOTHING...... No matter what I do, none of them will work. They won't show up on my disk utility, and they won't show up in Finder. Macbook M3 Pro. I get that things happen, but I really got pissed when I called Sandisk. Absolutely zero help at all. I could barely understand them, and they couldn't offer any solutions other than sending them ALL in for warranty, or I could buy another transport to see if that is what is at fault. So frustrating, I dont have the words.......I am happy to change my rating if and when I get a solution for these $1000 paperweights. Also, when I went on the SanDisk page to register them, none of the serials were recognized with Sandisk, and I purchased them from the Sandisk shop on Amazon.

Drive Ships With APFS Format (Apple File System), Not Windows
This wasn't mentioned anywhere (it took a lot of digging to figure it out, and the lack of information about it is why I took a star off) but the blades (drives) come pre-formatted with APFS, the Apple File System.I found out the hard way when I plugged it into my Windows computer and it didn't recognize it.Thankfully, I'm somewhat tech savvy and have a MacBook Pro, so I was able to reformat the partition on the disk to exFAT, which supports large files and can be used on both a Mac and a Windows computer. Not everybody may be that fortunate.Western Digital / Sandisk, this is a huge issue and you need to either be more up-front about it, offer an easy way for users to reformat the disk for NTFS or exFAT - or even better, sell different versions of the blades that come pre-formatted with the format of choice. And if this was "up-front" clear (not buried in tech specifications) and I just missed it, please point it out and I'll edit this review.EDIT: I'm returning the drive. It refused to format in either exFAT or NTFS so it's of no use to me.

Awesome, convenient
I've been using my Sandic problade for about a year now and it's been awesome. I like the interchangeable storage design.I initially purchased the pro blade so I could use it with my Lumix s5m2x and record directly to an SSD but have since been using it for mass storage in general. I like being able to organize projects physically by drive. The pro blade has become my recording and mass storage systemIts a but expensive to buy into the ecosystem which is what will probably turn most people off but the convenience is worth it for me.

Very high Sandisk quality. Can't beat it.
Very reliable. I use the "Blade" for storage, and retrieving of photos while tethering a photo session. Along with a Sandisk desk top hard drive, it's my go to system.

Interesting design, compact, but will it be available in a few years?
The blade/stick solution is certainly a clever design. After so many formats now gone, the main question is the life span and consequently availability of this format in the next several years. The desk multi-blade boxes are currently too expensive where this system may not gain enough popularity to be still offered i.e. 5 years from now. The stick/blades commend premium cost which cal also limit its market life cycle. Cost reduction and 8TB, 12TB introductions could help.Update 09/26. The 4TB mag I just received via Amazon was unsealed and appeared to be previously used. Not sure wether or not to return it..Update 10/09/24. The SanDisk blade ecosystem could use a dual-bay reader in addition to the too expensive and too bulky 4-bay unit. A raid provision could be added as well.

Overheats and turns off when transferring high speed files!
I bought two of these for two of my offices and both have the same dumb flaw -- they overheat and turn off if you transfer from one high speed drive/disk to another. It's ridiculous that the device doesn't just slow down transfer speed. Instead, it'll just turn off and you have to restart your computer. However, I will say that if you're not transferring high speed files, the drive works well (especially for video editing). But I really hate that for the price, it shuts down if it gets too hot. Kinda ridiculous given the price...
