Amazing!
Being a newbie to planted tanks, I had planted a full 10 gallon then looked into fishless cycling and bought this product on a whim a week in to really get my cycle going. When I tell you my plants were standing taller the day after I added this product! I know that's not the primary function, but to me that was an instant indication that it was working. Dosing on the bottle makes it very easy to reach your desired ppm, and in my opinion the price for the quality of this item was worth it. Would purchase again and will be using in future tank cycling!

Works but use half than directed
Definitely raises ammonia on tests, however use HALF than what's directed on bottle. It says 4 drops per gallon will raise ammonia from 0 to 2ppm, however after using this a couple times and following the directions I always end up at ~4ppm. Either way, so far seems to work for my fishless cycle in progress.

It works well, but it really is too strong
My tank cycled really well, but it need about half of what the directions say. Using full dose according to the directions brought the ammonia levels up so high that the tank actually stalled. I had to dilute it to get the nitrogen cycle started. Still five stars though!

Follow directions
The FritzZyme Fishless Fuel Ammonia Solution makes cycling a fishless tank painless. Follow the directions, especially the part where the bottle should be shaken before adding anything to your tank. I used a very small amount to 'seed' my 125-gal tank and a week later have moderate NH4, no nitrites, and low nitrates. Initial NH4 reading was 4ppm and has reduced to 2ppm as of this review. I suspect that the tank will be completely cycled within another week. That is so much better than circulating a tank for 8 weeks because I have a 7.5 inch Tiger Oscar who needs relocated from his 55-gal tank pretty quickly. I absolutely recommend this product to any aquarist wanting to reduce their 'cycle' time.

I Love This Stuff!
Worked flawlessly to establish a cycle in my newly re-setup aquarium without having to add fish first. Along with API Quick Start, I was able to quickly establish a healthy nitrifying bacteria cycle ready for fish to be added in just 8 days! Highly recommended!

Works As Advertised
It does what it's supposed to do. I'm on day 15 of my tank cycle using this product and it's still in progress, but we're moving along as expected. Don't let other reviews fool you into thinking that this works in just a few days or a week. You have to wait for both ammonia AND nitrite levels to decline to zero during the tank cycling process. While ammonia takes just a week to process, nitrite levels remain high for WEEKS and require many water changes before levels will stabilize. Remember to add de-chlorinator BEFORE adding new water to your tank so you don't kill the bacteria you're trying to grow.Right now, my tank is processing about 1ppm of ammonia per day, but it's still growing the bacteria that converts nitrites to nitrates, so these numbers continue to spike. Be patient, give it time. Treat your growing bacteria like part of the family, and you'll have more fun with this boring process.Recommended steps: 1) Add this ammonia. 2) Add nitrifying bacteria. 3) Wait 4 days and retest. 4) Add a few more ammonia drops if the level is lower. 4) Wait for nitrite to spike to maximum levels, then perform an 80% water change until it drops within readable range. 5) Wait for ammonia to drop to 0, add more ammonia (just a few drops, I don't recommend repeatedly dosing with 2ppm ammonia during nitrite spikes). 6) Perform 80% water changes every time nitrite spikes to maximum levels on your chart. 7) Repeat adding small amounts of ammonia until nitrite levels start to drop within 24 hours. 8) Once both ammonia and nitrite repeatedly drop to 0 in a 24 hour period, you're ready to roll.

This stuff works!
Buy it if you want to cycle a tank quickly and need to move some of your loved ones to a larger tank. Highly recommended. Here are some details of my most recent comedy. Please laugh, it's good for you!I received 2 comets as a Christmas present from my neighbor. I fish-sat for her gold fish over T-day and commented that I did some research - having a sole goldfish is illegal in Switzerland ( inhumane there - must have at least 2 since they are social creatures) and that I missed the greeting I got every morning when I walked into my home office. Hence the comets - in a 2 1/2 gallon bowl! I added some amazon fern and a marimo ball, a small filter ( BF5 ) , bought a test kit. After the first ammonia spike days after getting these guys - in came ammo lock, daily water changes, gravel vacuum, panic attacks galore. In the meantime they've both doubled in size. So I bought a 10 gallon kit as the middle school for them.I have simple gravel, resin log ( I couldn't add any more dimensions to this equation with real wood ), more ferns, crypts, an anubia and more marimo balls. I started feeding flakes to the fishless tank and got no response. Nothing. Perfectly clear water with gravel, log and plants.I've been watching KG Tropicals videos and they recommended Fishless Fuel and Fritz Zyme 7.My tank is now mid-startup. I have ammonia from the Fuel, nitrites, and nitrates. Waiting for Zyme7 to corral the ammonia and nitrites. Once they drop then Minnie and Pearl are going in. I'm hoping for only a year. Then on to a 60? 125? I live in Jacksonville FL. How about a pond on my back porch?Anyway, great products. Panic is less frequent now that I have quality products on my side.
