Budding Artist at Work
I chose this particular model for a 2 year old (I ensure he’s supervised whilst using) - he loves it! I used a £5 off voucher from somewhere which made the item more reasonable for my budget. Packaging was sturdy & the item was received earlier than predicted. I trusted the brand to deliver on quality, it’s an item that will be passed on so shall have many artists amused for hours. It’s as much fun using the eraser as it is to draw for now 🎨

Good fun for little ones
My son loves these. He's still practicing writing his letters etc and he has been using this to do that.It is a good size and seems to be really good quality. Great price. Highly recommend as a gift for kids.

Not fit for purpose.
The attached drawing implement produces very poor images or writing, and the picture clearing system is totally ineffective, it does not clear the image no matter how often you swipe it. Everything about this product is sub standard.

The little girls understand.
I can review this one very quickly after receiving it. Although it's intended for young children, and it will indeed end up in the hands of my three year old granddaughter, I left it with my adult son to see what he could do with it. I've attached some photographs, of which more in a moment. Many years ago I can remember something similar to this, where the lines you could draw were quite wide and the resulting picture not very detailed. This board is advertised as being able to make finer lines, which should be a bonus. What you get to achieve this is a pen (it's all done with magnets, by the way) and a little star that you plonk down, and then a button attached to a slider which you draw across the screen to erase the image when you've had enough of it. The whole thing feels well made, and the pen is attached by a cord so you can't lose it. The star is held in place by a couple of little clips which, perversely, are so tight that whilst it does it's job the temptation must be to remove it and never put it back. And then you lose it.So, looking at the pictures, you'll see what you can do with it all. And you may notice the first problem, which is that while you can indeed draw finer lines, the next time you go near them to draw something else, the first lines begin to blur. Look at the eyes in this case. Of course, the obvious thing to say is - why would a 3 year old care about that? And they wouldn't, but that isn't the point. They advertise this as being a high quality screen, and really it isn't as good as all that. But it's good enough for a child. Then you decide to erase it, and almost nothing happens! At least it won't if you're 3 and you zip the slider quickly to the other side of the screen. If you're older, you'll do it slowly and it'll work after a couple of goes. But it's not satisfactory.I'm a bit underwhelmed by it all. Ideally I'd have let my granddaughter use this before reviewing, but due to upcoming holidays and so on I won't be seeing her until the beginning of December which is leaving it too late. If I find out that her experience is different, I'll call back and update this.*EDIT. I managed to sneak in an extra visit with our granddaughter, and our 8 year old grandson. I've upgraded the rating by a star, because I had forgotten just how uncritical children can be. The girl was more than happy to sit on grandma's knee and fill the entire screen with black, erase it and then start again. The boy would ask what I wanted him to draw, do it, rub it out, and then try something else. At no point did either of them complain that "Granddad, have you noticed that it can get a little blurry on some of the more detailed areas?" Adults can be such idiots. Four stars, no worries.

Classic toy
Have been struggling to get my 3 year old to sit and draw/colour and this has helped. It is a classic for a reason, it manages to hold his attention marginally longer and loves erasing his mistakes. Great toy

Poor Quality
Really disappointed with this. I went for this one as it’s by Tomy, and I was therefore expecting it to be one of the better sketchers on the market. The lines that you draw come out really light, even after pressing quite hard. And you have to clear it about 5 times for the pad to actually clear. There are much better ones on the market. I’ve returned for a refund.

Quality fun to bring out their creative side!
Who doesn’t love to draw?! With fond memories of Etch-A-Sketch and similar products from my youth, this is a nostalgic treat and great practical toy in one!The magnetic Megasketcher is great for doodling, scribbling and writing on, with a built-in pen to help little ones practice pen-holding as well as a stamper shape. When the artwork is complete, the slider bar at the bottom clears the image, ready for the fun to start all over again! As you would expect from TOMY, the product is well made from quality materials that are sure to stand up to even the roughest play! One point to note though: if your child is left-handed they might find it tricky to use the product as the string on the pen isn’t the longest. It isn’t impossible, but does make it a bit more difficult. All in all, though, a great toy that’s the perfect gift and a good size for taking with you on the go.
