Is a bit flimsy, especially when opening it up. After about 3 days the motor started making a noticeable whirring noise which was very frustrating.Not until a lot of fiddling about with blu tac and putting a load of Vaseline in the cog section did the noisy whirring relent. Otherwise it’s rather niceIt’s a shame it took a lot of tinkering about to achieve a product that is actually very nice

There was nothing I disliked about this. I wanted it for my unused open fireplace. When I first opened the parcel it looked like a cheap toy. But when I placed it in the fireplace and switched it on I couldn’t believe how realistic it looked. Very highly recommended.

This ideal for sitting inside our fire which we do not use gives a nice glow to an empty fire.

The media could not be loaded.  Love it! Although the build quality is quite poor being constructed of thin, creaky plastic, the aesthetics and effect of the front (the flames) more than makes up for this and we can expect too much for £12! Infact, at that price point, this is an absolute bargain. The fireplace effect is great and it really does create a relaxing ambience. I have mine on top of my piano and it looks fantastic. Takes 4 x C batteries (I bought a 10 pack of Duracell Industrial here on Amazon) and it's still holding up well 3 days in, after being powered up for 9 hours each night. It would have been great to have the power button at the back of the unit rather than the bottom so that you don't have to pick the unit up to switch it on or off. Better still, this would have been good to have a remote control option for a few pounds more. This would allow you to place the unit on high or awkward places. Just get one!

For the price my expectations were not high. I have wanted something for years to put into my fireplace when I don't have a real fire lit. This fits perfectly into my Rayburn open fire and blends into the black cast iron surround. When lit you only see the fire effect. I am very pleased with my purchase which I have been using for a week now.It would improve it's usability if the on/off switch was on the top or side for ease of access. Or even better remote control.

The media could not be loaded.  Product arrived broken - the rotating flame feature doesn’t work per the video. I want to have a replacement sent but it’s not worth the cost and effort returning this faulty item.Don’t waste your money.

Flames look quite realistic. I bought this after seeing my father have two of them, one each end of the mantlepiece. The give the illusion of warmth, too. The only downside is they get through batteries quite quickly. On the whole I would recommend highly.

Very pretty light, using it in my decorative fireplace in the lounge, has really brought it to life
