Better than many expensive options
I am shocked at how good this mineral sunscreen is. I am a mineral sunscreen junkie and have so many expensive ($50+ a bottle) high end versions. I have fair/light combo skin and hate greasy, pasty sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen rubs in quickly and isn’t greasy. It out performs MANY high end sunscreens. I love that it has 19% zinc (substantial compared to some others) and is waterproof 80 mins. One thing I found interesting (and awesome) is that iron oxide is listed (last) in the ingredients, which means it has a *very* slight tint. Iron oxide is shown to help block visible/blue light which can be important to people like me with discoloration. This sunscreen is pretty robust for a “basic” drugstore brand. The color is more of a (very pale yellow almost?) off white, not stark white, I think due to the iron oxide listed. I wouldn’t call it tinted, but at least it’s better than paper white sunscreen. In comparison to other thick, heavy, greasy stark white mineral sunscreens, this one is a breeze to rub in! I cannot find anywhere if this sunscreen is nano or non nano, so that’s something to take into consideration if you care, which I really do not. If nano sunscreen is a big concern of yours I would reach out to banana boat to confirm. I purchased this so I don’t have to use my expensive face mineral sunscreens on my body but shockingly this may end up being my new favorite mineral face sunscreen. It isn’t drying on me personally (combo skin leaning oily) and it also wore fine under makeup. The finish is a soft satin after dried down. I’m pretty blown away! It preformed perfect at the pool, even in humidity. I will most likely repurchase. I’m glad to not have to repurchase the more expensive MDSolar science mineral sunscreen I was previously using on my body. I purchased with my own money no paid review! 10 out of 10 for the value and performance from me!!!

Works well
I recently purchased the Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50, and here's my experience:Application and Feel: The sunscreen has a thick consistency, typical of mineral-based products. It requires a bit of effort to rub in, and initially, it leaves a noticeable white cast on the skin. However, after a few minutes, the whiteness diminishes significantly, though it may still be slightly visible, especially on darker skin tones.Performance: In terms of sun protection, it performs admirably. I used it during a beach outing and didn't experience any sunburn, even after several hours in the sun. It's water-resistant, which is a plus for swimming or sweating.Skin Sensitivity: I have sensitive skin, and this sunscreen didn't cause any irritation or breakouts, which is often a concern with new products. The absence of fragrances and harsh chemicals is a definite advantage for those with skin sensitivities.Environmental Impact: Being a mineral sunscreen, it's considered reef-friendly, which is important to me as I try to choose products that are safer for marine life.Packaging: The 5oz tube is convenient and fits easily into a beach bag or backpack. The flip-top cap ensures there's no mess during application.Overall Impression: While the initial white cast requires some patience during application, the effective sun protection and skin-friendly formula make the Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 a reliable choice for outdoor activities. It's especially suitable for those seeking a reef-friendly option without compromising on protection.

Affordable and Reliable
This Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 is a great value for the price. It’s super easy to apply, blends in quickly, and doesn’t leave the usual heavy white cast that some mineral sunscreens do. The formula feels light and hydrating, and I like that it’s fragrance-free and gentle on my skin. Overall, a solid choice for reliable sun protection that I can depend on, especially for beach days.

great mineral sunscreen
This is a fantastic mineral sunscreen from a great brand that is trusted to keep your skin safe from the sun's harmful rays. It is really smooth to apply to the skin and blends in very nicely while being fragrance free. I enjoyed these cream type sunscreens as it's the easiest to apply and it works really well.

This is a nice sunscreen. It goes in easily and doesnt leave a white cast or feel to greasy or oily. It has a nicr scent and texture. It protects my easily burnt skin very well. It lasts a long time before needing to be reapplied.

Screen out those rays!
The Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 in a 5 ounce tube seems to work just fine! The cost at time of order in November 2024 was about $13.00. The web description states it uses zinc oxide in the sunscreen. Now typically the zinc oxide can leave the skin with a white tinge. After rubbing in the sunscreen, I did not notice any white tinge at all. It actually blended in quite nicely. In most instances for me, I find that most sunscreens give me a burning sensation when I apply to my face. I was pleased that this product did NOT give that burning sensation to my face. It did not have a strong fragrance, just a very light smell that was not noticeable once it was on the skin. The product was applied to the skin when doing some yardwork. While outside for maybe an hour, the sunscreen seemed to do its job. However, I cannot comment on the product function for longer periods of sun exposure as I have not yet tried it for a long hike.Overall: All in all, I would say this is a reliable sunscreen that does as described.
