100% restored 12-year old BG55
I was about to throw-in-the-towel on my old and well-used Stihl BG55 blower. It was getting increasingly more difficult to start and keep it running, even with new filters and good gas. So I started pricing rechargeable models - and discovered they are easily $100-200 more than equivalent gas model. Then I came across this carburetor. I had the shop replace this part several years back - to the tune of almost $75 including the labor - my mistake. this was SUPER easy to do. So before I spent $300 on an electric model, I figured for under $20 plus a new spark plug (I did not use the no-name included in this kit) I needed to try this. It took 30 minutes to take mine apart, 30 minutes to really clean it (drain that old gas), and 10 minutes to install the new part. IT RUNS LIKE NEW - FOR REAL!!! I used the original fuel lines (the one included might have worked, but I had no reason to replace), the new gaskets, new fuel filter, and the new carburetor. I had to adjust the first (taller) screw to get the mix right, and the smaller screw to get it to idle smoothly, but now it PURRRS - and idles until I turn it off and runs as good as when it was new!!!So for roughly $30 I have my blower back - and my $300 still in savings! I'd highly recommend you try this fix before spending $$$$ on the electric model.

Fit perfect
I bought this for my stihl leaf blower because it was running rough. The kit gives you evening you need including spark plug, primer, hoses. It was all a prefect match and took less than an hour to install. Cheap fix.

Pulled the rope and a slight adjustment to the carb mixture needle valve and back to running like new

Wow ir works!
I inherited a Sthil BG55 blower from my father who passed. He always cursed at the thing saying “it never ran right.” It was always hard to start, stumbled to idle often dying, and had no get up and go. It would take almost 60 seconds to slowly ramp up speed. I wanted to keep the original carb and spend almost 22 dollars to buy a ZAMA RB-88 rebuild kit. It was better but the low speed wasn’t right… it would stumble and have trouble accelerating and idling. I bought this and changed only the carburetor…. I don’t want a no-name spark plug when the blower has a genuine NGK. Regardless, it was running better than ever. Then I spent 15 minutes tuning it, and boy did this carburetor get dialed in. It runs way better than when new 10 years ago. It idles properly, you pull the trigger and it immediately starts blowing, it achieves high RPM, and letting off it idles down without stumbling. I give it a 5 because this is better than the genuine Zama Carburator!

Works terrific!
Worked perfectly, just a few notes ... for the BG85 the fuel line is too long to the carb (non accordion end) I trimmed it back and worked perfect, otherwise it kinked. The other end to the fuel filter in the tank is very short so you can't hook it and pull it out of the gas cap opening like you can the original so put the fuel filter on first and drop in tank from the top of the tank where the new lines seals.DON'T FORGET TO INSTALL THE NEW CARB GASKET ... the 2 gaskets that came with the kit did not fit the same as original, or even look the same so I missed installing it first time around. AFTER putting it all together realizing I omitted the gasket (it still ran but not completely smooth) I took it apart again and inserted the gasket (used original) where it should be and the blower runs and starts perfectly!! Very happy ;-)My whole reason for this job was a blown out primer bulb ... put a new one in and it would not prime which led to the new carb and it did the trick.

Sometimes you get a bad one.
I bought this carburetor for my Stihl BG55. I have bought many Amazon carburetors before without any issues (replacements for my chainsaw, weedwacker, and blower). I am always able to immediately start them right up and go to work. Not this time. I was able to get it started and use it for 5 minutes of blowing. I noticed the throttle response was starting to diminish as time went on. Finally it died and I was unable to restart it. The only way to get it started was to press the primer bulb several times. Sometimes it would prime, sometimes not. I also noticed taking off the fuel cap, fuel would squirt out (under pressure). This is not normal and I have seen it happen before on someone else’s blower. Infact, swapping to another new carburetor fixed the problem. I have a suspicion that it’s an internal fuel delivery problem. I think every once in a while you get a “dud” carburetor. These are cheap enough, I’ll go buy another one. Review Point: it’s a crap shoot, you may or may not receive a good one.

Carb is good. Filter not so much.
So these Chinese kits are good value overall. However, the quality of the parts are in line with the value. The plug fuel and air filters are all low grade carb works fine initially started my BG 55 conked out in about three minutes pulled the filter off and ran it without runs great.

Super easy instillation. Had my 20 year old Stihl BG55 back up and running in 20 minutes
I used to buy carb rebuild kits and spend and hour cleaning the parts. This was saved me a lot of time. It was a perfect drop in fit. Seems to be decent quality.
