Blokus

Bought this game on the strength of reviews, and not disappointed. This is a completely different type of strategy game that can be played over and over again - with no two games being the same. Its suitable for two, three or four players (two can play with two sets of colours each for a change). Its so easy to play and adults can plays alongside children on a very equal footing. Its not a long dragged out game that never seems to end, and in fact as soon as you finish - you want to play again!! I would recommend this to anyone as its so suitable for children and adults. The purpose of the game is that each player takes all pieces of one colour - all of which are different shapes and sizes. Everyone has to put one piece in 'their corner', and then take turns to put different pieces on the board. Every piece must touch another of the same colour - but ONLY on the corners. The idea is to invade your opponents space, and not let them into yours. Great fun. Highly recommended.

...my current husband, Jerry, and I are loving this game. Bought it for the children (7 and 5) at Christmas - they get it, but don't love it as much as Jerry and I do. It makes a change for me to beat Jerry at something - he normally bores me into a coma-like state by taking so VERRREEEEE long to make his move at Scrabble etc., then he pounces with triple word scores while I'm incapacitated. Not this game - he can ponder all he likes - I have my moves planned and he's toast. (That said, Lucy beat me fair and square the other day and she's 5.) Jerry has kept a written log of EVERY game of Scrabble he has ever played. That's one of those things you wish you'd known BEFORE you married someone.

A very visually attractive game that could be enjoyed by youngish children. I have only played with adults, and we have had so much fun

This is a deceptively simple game to play which I have had great fun doing with my grandchildren - youngest aged 5. The rules are extremely simple - place your piece in contact with another of your pieces but only at the corners. The fun is in blocking your opponents at the same time as carving out space for yourself to get rid of your pieces unhindered. I suspect it is also educational but essentially it is quick to learn and fun to play - the only downside is that only four can play at once. The board seems fairly robust as do the pieces - the challenge will be to keep a full compliment.

I bought this for my 11 year old son for Christmas as I was determined that he would not receive just Playstation games. Did some looking around and thought we would give this a go.Well all I can say is that we spent more time playing this than any PS game and we had all the family playing and watching.My 9 year old daughter also likes playing it. The rules are incredibly simple and the game is throughly addictive and as each game only lasts about 30 mins, it does not get boring. We played it constantly over the holiday and when they are now back from school, the first thing they want to do is play Blokus!Cannot recommend it more highly. Buy this game and you will love it!!!

We bought this game after reading the reviews on Amazon. We have two boys, 7 and 11 and this game has rapidly become a family favourite. We even took it with us to those family get togethers that happen around this time of year and everyone was eager to have a game.It is really good fun but can and does create arguments in our house as the aim of the game is to lay your pieces whilst blocking the other players from laying theirs. The game is simple enough to play with kids, but when they're out the way the wife and I play and it gets a whole lot more serious.We would recommend this game to anyone.
