Be careful while putting it together, not as easy as it looks. The instructions aren't very explanatory, and mine was missing a couple bolts. Also, I wouldn't consider it to be a mobile unit, unless you were to replace bolts with pins. hoping that as I use the hoist I will be able to become more knowledgeable.

As others said, directions are aweful. In reality tho, not hard to assemble.Now the meat and potatoes. Cable hoist is terrible. Stability is poor at best. The adjustable foot the the ground is good in regards to adding strength, but the lateral stability is horrible considering the poor fit into the hitch, and the moment arm the platform contributes. Load placed at center is ok. But weight on outboard edge of platform bends the tubing. So not a great design. I will be keeping this however but making mods. I will change to a strap vs cable on hoist. I'll be adding stabilizers. I'll also be adding stiffening bar for platform. My thought is that the people that make this in China have never had to.use it, otherwise they would have improved on it.

Why can’t they just put a little more effort into better instructions.Will update after I fully assemble it but it’s definitely a puzzle.UPDATE: got it put together and only 4 small washers let over. I know where two of them go but I missed it in the diagram and it’s not worth going back to put them on. Buy no clue why they had 4 and only needed two.Simply putting all the bolts etc on a card with a plastic over it like a lot of self assembly furniture has would be so much easier than them throwing all the parts in a single bag with no clue which bolt is needed where. Many of them look similar.Bottom like if you can struggle through the poor instructions I think the product itself is going to be decent for me and what I bought it for

The item arrived on time and was fairly easy to assemble. Problem was the package of bolts and nuts was not complete. There were missing bolts and nuts which required a trip to the store to purchase the missing items. This resulted in a longer assembly time and extra time for the trip to the store. Better quality control would solve this problem. The game hoist works very well and being disabled helps me to keep on hunting. I would recommend this hoist highly.

The instructions for this hoist are pretty disappointing. There are a couple of disjointed subassembly steps that don't give either clear or complete instructions. The exploded diagrams are useful, but often require puzzling out which part is which in what orientation. A number of different diameter and length of bolt are included and you have to be sure to pick the right ones.It can all be puzzled out if you're a little bit mechanically inclined, but better instructions would help it go much quicker.The hoist can either operate the gambrel or lift the platform as needed, but obviously can't do both at once. Note that to lift the platform sufficiently to be level with the tailgate you have to remove a pin which blocks the rollers.In addition to the ability to hang deer, the platform lift provides some good capabilities for loading heavy stuff. At home I'm able to use a tractor to lift heavy equipment into the bed of my truck, but this serves as a more portable lift that I can take with me. Definitely be aware of the weight limits before using for this purpose, however.
