Melting could occur in shipping. TIP: Cold climates makes the oils a lot harder and hence harder to push up. Just need to warm it in your hands (4-5 minutes) and push from the bottom. Push from different sides on the bottom too. Working around the circle and pushing up while holding the grey tube in your other hand firmly. The grey inner tube isn't glued with some crazy adhesives so it can remain toxic-free. - Push from the bottom with some force if it is really stuck though usually that is from it being quite cold. The tube is not defective it just needs some force to get it to move up. Thank you for your understanding ~ Get you (and a friend :) a Gaia Guy organic and vegan-friendly deodorant, because it’s people, animal and planet friendly. Now that is a triple bottom line you can get behind.Note that if you will have to warm up the tube in your hands or by some means (one happy customer even put it in a microwave for 10 seconds) to soften the oils so it is easier to push up. Also, push from the bottom on several sides and pinch the grey inner tube between your fingers as you push up from the bottom. Paperboard is renewable, biodegradable, compostable, and recyclable, making this deodorant tube the best eco-friendly alternative to tubes made from petroleum based plastics. Not without quirks, but worth it!
I try to be a socially + environmentally conscious shopper. This can be difficult when it comes to deodorant as my 5ft tall self just happens to be endowed with armpits that are prone to sweating (and smelling) like that of a 6'8 linebacker. This has led to an ethical dilemma for me, because as much as I want to buy natural, eco-friendly deodorants, the majority of the time they just don't get the job done like Old Spice or some clinical strength stuff. I finally discovered this stuff though, and it really is the holy grail for me.I would say the biggest downside of this product is that it starts to melt in warm rooms, which means it can be very messy when applying. To combat this, either A) just sweep your finger across the top and then apply like a balm/lotion or B) store it in the refrigerator and apply like normal deodorant (this is my method of choice). With this being said, the FANTASTIC smell and efficacy of the product outweigh this minor inconvenience. Best natural deodorant I have tried to date!

Ingredient - Kaolin Clay (Hydrous Aluminum Phyllosilicate)
Unfortunately, Kaolin Clay contains aluminum. A neurotoxin. Common in all mainstream deodorants.Hydrous aluminum phyllosilicate (Al2Si2O5 (OH) 4Chemically bonded to the silicate fortunately. I am unaware of how this gets absorbed and transported through our bloodstream.Better than stand alone aluminum but still, I was hoping for aluminum-free working products. I gave three stars because my understanding is that since it is bound to Silica, there should be almost no transportation of stand-alone aluminum which is stored in the brain and tissues causing damage.Pros:Smells nice, I used my finger to apply like a face cream would be.Love the packaging, looks plastic free. Healthy organic oils.

Works well for 24 hours
Loved the smell of the product and it worked well but the packaging did not work for me. It is awkward to push up, like a push pop. Somehow it also got turned upside down or something and the cap no longer fits. My fault I’m sure but not sure how it happened. I like that the packaging is recycled though. I would buy this product again but would maybe try other brands also due to the packaging.

Not at all what I expected.
Back story is that I'm looking for a replacement for my plastic packaged Old Spice Classic. First, the product worked well. I had no problem with the tube and it went on smoothly. But... The scent (I got the Vanilla Lavender) was all vanilla. It smelled like cake frosting. The smell did last all day long but the product isn't so much a de-odorant as an odor masker. Underneath, the skin bacteria were happily pumping out their stuff which you found out after a shower. It's almost impossible to shower off. Really. Dr. Bronner's wouldn't get it off. It just didn't work for me.So, try it. For me it was a no-go after using it for a week. Your results may be different.

All in all I love the effort of vegan and eco friendly but the ...
I was so excited to try out this new product after finishing my old grand deodorant. However from the beginning I found the packaging very temperamental. I ended up having to rip the inner package apart to be able to push the stick up. Being that I live in a climate where the average is 80 degrees Fahrenheit the stick crumbled, melted, and fell apart. Still not letting it get to me i continued using it. After a few weeks of only using this I could put up with the odor my body emitted while it was on my body. All in all I love the effort of vegan and eco friendly but the product didn't match with my body chemistry.

Nice Try
It's fine, and I appreciate the manufacturer's effort to use biodegradable packaging. So what if it's a bit messy and I had to call for instructions on how to advance the product through the tube? (Just push very hard.) It's not as streamlined as we are used to, but making a slight adjustment is worth it. Would I buy it again? Maybe, because I should.

Oil-soaked shirts
The product smells great and keeps me smelling great but it soaks through my clothes big time and looks like sweat. I think it’s the coconut oil that causes the stains. I must have brushed the inside of my shirt when I was putting it on, and there’s even an oil blotch on the middle of me shirt. Love the packaging and the smell but the practicality won’t work for me. As soon as you warm up the coconut oil turns to liquid and soaks whatever you’re wearing.

My skin is ultra sensitive and my pits have pretty much always been red and bumpy
I’ve been trying to find a natural deodorant that actually works for 2 years now. My skin is ultra sensitive and my pits have pretty much always been red and bumpy, itchy, etc. So far I’ve only been using this for about a week now and it has been the best deodorant I’ve ever used, even better than regular deo. I do use one thin layer of Crystal salt rock deodorant, let it dry, then put this on top. This has passed all the tests, so far, including the workout test. My pits also look better than they have since I don’t even know when. Redness and bumps are gone. I highly recommend giving this a shot if you’re trying to find that perfect, natural deo.
