Westward Series Nickels: Collector's Map Hardcover – January 1, 2006

I bought one for me and one for my father-in-law. While there were some historical remarks mentioned, it was not with the historical detail we had hoped for. Also, this book requires an old buffalo head nickel to be complete. Not many people have those that are still in good shape. So, it is kinda neat, but could have been much better.

I thought it would be just the buckles but it also had slots for quarters and gold dollar coins. Very nice.

This is one of the most interesting coin books I have yet to buy. Not only does it give you space for both the P and D mint marks of the Westward Series nickels, but it follows the story of the journey of Lewis and Clark. It also has a timeline that points out significant dates of the westward expansion of the United States with places for state quarters from Missouri, Kansas, California and Oregon as well as the Sacagewea dollar and a buffalo nickel. Also has three coin spots to show the change in the obverse design from 2004 through 2006. 20 coins needed in all to fill this book. I see this book as not only a coin folder/map but as a learning tool. Great buy. Folder is large, about twice the size of the average folder but again I think it's well worth it!
