It works as described - I'm running 1920x1080 picture, quality is good.I'm using 2 units, to supply 2 screens from 1 laptop.I did have to install the updated drivers at the start, but once installed, all worked fine.3 - Stars - As -for my laptop, (1 year old, I5 2.3Ghz, 12Gb ram), with both units working, the drivers result in about 1000us of latency under normal load. Ideally, below 500us is "normal/good". 1000 is low end of borderline.This latency due to the drivers for these units, becomes an issue when under more load, with more programs open and things working, it will spike the latency up past 16,000us, and much past 8,000us, MY system (cant speak for other systems) on those spikes, will pause output to the USB3 ports just for a fraction of a second - the result being 1 or both of the screens will go black, for a second/part of a second.It's annoying is the result.It only happens under those certain high load conditions.(50% upwards Ram load, 45% upwards CPU load, especially when spiking to 100%)Outside of those conditions, it's a lovely product that does job very well and I'd imagine for the vast majority of people, they'll never see this issue.Add in the price, and I'd still buy them again.I'll keep an eye out for updated drivers, the issue may get resolved.It may just be the way HP have configured my laptop.(could be, I hate HP, will never buy another)

I admit I ordered this with misgivings and to be honest, after reading all the bad reviews, I didn't hold out much hope of it working. And sure enough, the first time I connected it to my Acer notebook, it didn't install - I thought this was probably to do with the fact that I'm running Windows 10. So I googled it and found it for sale on another UK site which had a link to the company's site. I downloaded the driver file - which is a .rar file, so if you haven't got an app to unwrap that, you just click on the file and Microsoft will take you to an app in the store to download. I unwrapped it, found and installed the driver, connected the computer to the TV and it worked immediately.I have to agree with another reviewer that the connection is ultra sensitive, losing the picture for fractions of a second at a time, but as the HDMI port on my computer is broken, this is certainly a better alternative than buying a new computer!This is the link for the drivers if anyone needs it... Hi, my laptop is Windows 10 and i installed the driver using the link above, i also tried the drivers on the disk but its not detecting anything at all. All my ports on my laptop are USB3 but nothing happens when plugging the device in. I really wanted this to work so i could use my laptop screen and 2 external monitors.If someone could suggest a fix i'll re-rate this as 5 stars.UPDATE:I reinstalled the driver using the link however it still doesn't work. I noticed the following in Device Manager (see attached picture)UPDATE 22/09/2016:I was contacted by the seller and they sent me a new driver, unfortunately it didn't work but we suspected that I have a faulty product. They are sending me another adapter free of charge so I'm looking forward to see if it works, if all goes well I'll amend my rating to 5 stars! Can't complain about good customer service!UPDATED 28/09/2016I recieved the new adapter. It is slightly smaller than the original but I believe I was sent the latest version. I installed this with the driver i was sent via email and amazingly everything works really smoothly! I tried to 'stress test' the adapter by unplugging it multiple times as soon as the connection was established and I cannot find a fault with the product. It does get slightly warm but thats expected as its driving another screen. I'm using my laptop screen, HDMI to another screen and also this USB-HDMI adapter so I can use 3 screens in total!Thanks for the support!

The TPfocus device is well built and installed with no trouble. I have no qualms with the quality. I'd say its' excellent.I'm using this in a laptop, which is the most obvious reason to use it (in a USB3 port).These types of devices are OK, but as they use USB (which is reliant on the CPU in your machine), if your Laptop's CPU gets busy (and let's face it who's doesn't sometimes?) the screen goes black for a few seconds and then comes back, then goes black, then comes back. This happens until CPU utilisation drops..However, this behaviour is totally expected, so be aware if you are a regular power user then this type of device may not be up to your needs. However, if you're a casual user then I expect this will be a good purchase. Me? Well, I'm part way in between a casual user and a power user, so this issue does crop up at the most inconvenient times, but these devices are the best option out there right now for adding a further display to a laptop.If this is the type of device you are after, I can recommend this one. Just be aware of the shortcomings of this technology and make sure it suits your needs.

It installed first time and worked straight away. However, 5% of my laptop screen top and left didn't show up on the tv. Also I felt the quality of the display lacked some vibrancy compared to a native HDMI port on a laptop. I believe that the loss of screen area is probably due to refresh rates. I tried lowering the resolution of my laptop but it was no different. Could not go way low on screen resolution since I would be using it to demonstrate software built for a wide screen.If you have no alternative then this is an OK alternative. With a different mix of laptop and tv it may be perfectly OK. Once again I complain that the manual is tiny and difficult to read. No PDF on the supplied mini-cd. Amazon should have a manual's page or at least someone should send a PDF link in their confirmation email.
