Not an effective coffee substitute
This powder, apparently from the dried leaves of the tree, can be used to steep like tea to make a hot drink. There is nothing really objectionable about it. However, I would NOT say that this drink then tastes similar to coffee in anything other than the fact that both are hot liquids. Interestingly it has a decidedly chocolate aroma but not flavor.I would suggest this as an alternative to rather than a substitute for coffee.
