These colanders are fantastic!1. They're stainless steel. I love SST and glass cooking utensils. I feel like they hold up better and are more reliable and food safe than plastic materials.2. These are not wire mesh, they have punched holes with a clean finish. This means they won't eat your sponges (or knuckles) during washing!3. The base has three feet formed from a wire ring, as opposed to a pedestal-type base. This allows for a complete drainage from the colander and unhindered drainage underneath the colander. This means you won't end up with a sink full of water if you put the colander right over your drain!I have been very happy with this set and recommend it to anyone looking for colanders.
