Hefty Touch-Lid 13.3-Gallon Trash Can, Black, Holds 13.3 Gallons and 50 Liters

Several reviewers have complained that the lid's two springs come loose with use, spoiling their otherwise glowing reviews. With these in mind, I experimented: with my first use, I depressed the release lever while resting my fingers alongside to gently slow the lid's ascent. Without any snap, the springs stay secure. And I award five stars for size, functionality, value and good looks.

Although it was over a week delayed in transit, It is a great kitchen trash can. Easy to put together and fits nice in the place I wanted in my kitchen. Would definitely recommend.

I have been using Glad bags in this can and the top is a bit wide so that I have to stretch the bags to get them over the edge of the can, but once they are on, they don't come loose. The top fits well and protects the garbage from curious cats (they have only triggered the top once by accident). The cats will sit on the top of the can and the lid holds up well without bending in to the 7-12 pound weight they bring. But don't expect to be able to open the lid with them sitting on it. With the top being that wide, it is a little trouble removing the bag from the edges.

This is the second one of these I have owned. The only reason I replaced it was because the mechanism that keeps the lid shut wore out. I can't remember how many years I had the first one, it's been that long. Yes the lid wore out but with a family of five that's a lot of wear and tear. Open close, open close, open close. I like that it opens with just a touch, one of the reasons I bought it to begin with. The lid stays open so you can scrape all that junk into it. Another feature I really, really like is that, because of the shape, it's so easy to pull a full bag of garbage out of this can. All you need to do is gather up the top of the bag begin to pull, give it a few seconds and it will slowly release that bag. No more tugs of war and ripped bags. I was thrilled to find this on Amazon because the stores no longer seem to carry it.

I'm happy with my new trash can - it looks great in my kitchen, as almost everything in my house (except the walls) are black, so this one fits right in. The springs on the lid are smooth and strong, the top is silent and pops open as soon as I touch the pad. I can't find anything to complain about at all with this trash can.

It took forever to arrive and when it did I pulled it out of the boxed all scratched up and dirty on every side *and* inside! It looks like someone's been using it for years and just mailed it to me. I'm so annoyed. I was looking forward to this because. I just got my 1st apartment and finally my kitchen trash can arrived. Nope. Sending this back. Insane that this is the condition it arrived it.

This item is exactly as described. I use it with a garbage bag liner on my screened in porch to hold doggie waste bags in between garbage pickup days. I have used items specifically designed for this purpose and paid over $100 only to have them smell to high heaven and not perform as described. This simple waste can by Rubbermaid is way less expensive and is fantastic! Of course it would be great as a regular indoor waste receptacle however it’s great for the use I’m putting it to! It contains the smell too and I am able to sit on my screened porch with no bother from any iffy smells!
