Works.
Worked as a replacement. The hook is a bit smaller than the older ones, and I had to swap out the strap.

Durable
Good quality. Strong durable hook is too small. Strap seems to twist no matter what you do. Overall happy with the product.

Easy to install and powerful.
Easy to install ... and powerful. The only issue I had was that the handle would not fit on the unit initially. I had to make a few small passes with a metal file to make it fit. It is durable and easy to install on a winch post for a small boat.

Poor design rectified with "Yankee or Redneck" engineering
Had problem with existing winch not pulling true. Having used dual drive units previously felt one might correct the problem. Ordered this unit even other reviews stated handle breakage problem. True to their comments there is a problem in that the drive shaft has a bevel at the area of handle attachment allowing the handle to deflect when pressure applied. A bushing between handle and frame holding the handle square seems to have remedied the situation. So far it is working great.

Kayak Lift
Bought this with a Hi-Lift Pro kayak lift. With age and arm strength didn’t want the ropes to get away on my. Bolted the winch to the garage wall, took the strap off and tighed the kayak left ropes to it. Now I can ‘one-handed’ raise and lower the kayak without worrying about the rope slipping. Ratchet holds the kayak if I let go. Works GREAT :-)

It does the job
Winch works great. Hook is smaller than the eye on my boat, had to dismantle hook and reconfigure to make it work, and now it does!

Bolt sheared off after about 10 gentle uses.
While cranking in the boat, I sheared the bolt attached to the handle right off. The timing was perfect, but that was just dumb luck. I have asked that it be replaced under warranty. A new bolt would be just fine. I'll let you know if Attwood gets back to me and what solution they will offer. As an addendum, Attwood did get back to me, and provided me a completely new unit. So 5 stars for good service. Jury is still out on the product, and if it fails again, I will update this review.

Great crank with a small problem
Doest exactly what it is for !!Except: the locking mechanism did bent back on the cranck making it useless!! I believe this is because of where is was desing !! The pin will overpass to the backward position and you will need to apply alot of force to make it flip to the right position! I have used it 3 time with a 14’ aluminum boat and it did it on every occasion! Once on the biat ramp making my boat only wanting to go back in the water…. Will try to correct this somehow

Broke first time using it
The Crank Broke pulling a 14' aluminum boat and motor out of the water. I brought it home to return or replace it and I was 5 days past the return date... which must have been 2week period (?)

Se rompió al primer uso.
Leí los comentarios que a muchos se les rompió sin mucho trabajo pesado, me pasó igual al primer uso mientras lo ajustaba.
