Q: Does anyone use this as budgie food? My budgies won't eat processed, big-chunk parakeet mix & I want to feed them natural food only. Help?

Budgies would enjoy this mix! My doves, canaries, cockatiels and finches eat this. It smells very fresh. They do sell this bag just for budgies and all it is - is white millet. This bag has several kinds of seeds. I think budgies might like this more than the same brand's budgie mix.

Q: What is the expiration date if bought now Aug. 9th 2021?

When I purchased a bag in May 2021, it was manufactured (which I assume means mixed) Nov 2020 and an expiration date of Nov 2022. It would be impossible to answer your question and be more specific as I'm sure there are tons of this made monthly. This company guarantees freshness.

Q: What is better about this than Kaytee? This costs more.

My birds love it. I have not used Kaytee.

Q: can this be used in a sock feeder

Most often sock feeders are used with thistle. And though this seed did have some tiny seeds, there are many that I don't believe would fit through the holes of a sock feeder.
