Compact and reasonably price for recharging house batteries
I live pretty far from the grid, and frequently lose power each year but typically not more than a day. I got this to recharge my Anker F3800s when an outage exceeds two days. I basically use the F3800 and Solix Home Power Panel as a house UPS. It lets me recharge them on propane at their full 1800W recharge rate if they deplete before the grid comes back online. There was a couple extra bolts & nuts in the shipping container that was not identified as being included/required, but after going through the assembly with a fine tooth comb I couldn't find any missing hardware so fingers crossed it doesn't fall apart.Otherwise it assembled easily enough and once the nearly dead battery was recharged, it fired right up on propane and now sits ready for the next major outage. I did add a maintainer connection to the battery to make sure that it's always ready.

Has been working well for 2 outages in last 3 months in Houston
It has been performing well. Easy to start, and I have run it on both gas & propane with no issue. It uses about 5 gal. of gas per day. I really appreciate the electric start. My one minor complaint is that it states the oil capacity as 0.6 qt. which is exactly what was included, but I wound up with a lot of oil spilling out. It does use some oil during use, so I echo the recommendation of checking it every 8 hours. I wish the oil filler was easier to access, and more important, easier to check the level. It does seem loud, but no worse than the ancient one it replaced. I don't have any other comparison.

Used to like it-Now I Love it
We recently went thru Hurricane Beryl. It got full contact exposure to a hurricane and came thru with impressive results. We lost power to the house over 24 hours. The electric start came in very useful for my wife as she can't easily pull the cord. We covered in a canopy outside in a Cat 1 hurricane and it kept on working! The fuel efficiency on this is impressive. Filled the tank and it lasted over 24 hours nonstop with no refills needed. We alternated between fans and phone chargers and worked remarkably well. I also like how portable and maneuverable it is!It did appear to be louder than our neighbors but it is 4700+ (so I guess that is to be expected)For the reliability and price -- THIS is the one to buy!

First Generator Purchase Thoughts
Generator was nicely packaged and easy to remove from box (2 people). Assembly was straight forward and easy. Two things.1. Make sure you have the right amount of oil in it, before attempting to start. I didn't and had to figure that out via the manual's troubleshoot (comes with good documentation). There is a dipstick, but its puny and hard to read. Also be careful when replacing the dipstick. It tends to want to thread incorrectly if you don't have the angle just right.2. My battery came with enough charge to attempt two starts and then was drained. Hand start is easy enough. Supposedly the battery recharges while its running, but I haven't run the unit more than 5 minutes.Starts easy with pull start and runs fine. Just make sure you have the right amount of oil in it or it won't start (good preventative feature for noobs like me who've never owned one before). Well constructed, 4 gallon fuel capacity. Have not tried propane feature...

Jury is out- edited
First impressions were good. Unit was easy to set up. To add or drain oil you will need to literally lie on the ground to do so. For some that may be an issue and at 120 pounds just lifting it up on to a workbench likely not possible for 1 person. Then I noticed the front face plate had damage (see photos). The box did not arrive in a damaged state that would suggest it had occurred during shipping. I have contacted customer support and will update with how that works out. **excellent customer service, received replies to my emails in less the 24 hours, they will be shipping the replacement for the damaged part, very pleased with their quick resolving of the problem**I ran it for the 1st hour as part of the break in period and the clock showed 3 hours. Now perhaps it is ran for a couple of hours as part of the quality control process but I will watch that closely to see if it is accurate. Ran it for a 2nd hour after changing the oil and the unit was surging at idle now. Most common cause is a partial blockage of the idle jet in the carburetor- not something one would expect after less than 2 hours of operation. **added some mechanic in a bottle and the surging is no longer a problem and the unit has been running perfectly**Hoping these issues are resolved quickly and without hassle. Unit does appear well constructed and fired right up- but can go either way with if I could recommend this brand/model.**needed to email champion again on when the replacement part would arrive (mid January)- never received a reply but the part arrived a week later. Not perfect but they did do what they said they would**

Saved us during the February 2023 Storms
A week after buying this generator we lost electricity for 40 hours. This generator was a lifesaver. Pluged it into a transfer switch and we had partial power during the time the grid was down.Starting worked flawless with both Propane and gasoline. The genetaror ran a little over 9 hours on a 20 pound propane tank and about 11 hours on a full tank of gasoline. I prefer using propane but knowing gasoline can be used too is ever better. The automatic start worked great with either fuel source. My only complaint (and it's minor) is the display screen. I don't think it gives enough information but in end as long as it's generating AC power that's all that matters. It is noisy and heavy. The wheels help a lot but for someone my age its still difficult (but doable) to move around. The noise level isn't a huge deal because I live in a rural area, but if you have neighbors close by keep that into consideration.
