These are great structural screws with excellent bite. The threads are clean and deep and the shank is much thicker than any I've found at the big box stores.

I’m building a rather large patio cover, and have used 200+ 10” structural screws thus far. You know the price of structural screws is high, but if you need them, you have to buy them.. The previous 2 brands, I’ve used on the project were amazing. The other brands would truly drive 10 inches deep, in one try, without pre-drilling. These, however, even after pre-drilling, took 4 or 5 trys to sink to full depth. The way shipping is these days, I chose to use them, rather then return, and wait for different screws.If you examine the tip of these screws, you’ll note there is really no “drill” on the tip. The other brands (without naming) seem to have an aggressive cutter on the tip, to start the hole. And the other screws will drive in one try, a full 10 inches, with a battery powered hammer drill.One important thing to mention is these screws are hard, and I didn’t break or strip out the heads even once, I have used screws that break, and that is the worst thing that can happen, trying to remove a half installed, broken screw is the worst !Rich…
