I came across a recipe for Mudslide Cheesecake w/ Original Bailey’s Irish Cream Baking Chips in the recipe. If you Google it worded that way, you’ll find it. Anyway, I love mudslides & cheesecake so trying the recipe was a no brainer. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the chips in any local stores. I was quite pleased to find them on Amazon. Yes, they’re a bit expensive. But, I bought them anyway. My cheesecake came out wonderful & everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. I usually pay $60 or more for a Cheesecake Factory cheesecake. Buying these at this price & all the other ingredients still saved me a bundle & we have a new holiday dessert favorite. The cheesecake was easy to make. I don't really know what i was expecting, but for $9 a bag for flavored chocolate chips, i was a little disappointed. it has a lower melting point than regular chips, so making fudge i had to adjust my time. They have a hint of baileys taste, but nothing pouring a shot in a recipe couldn't duplicate. Worth the money? Nope.. I will stick with my standard chips and add my own flavoring next time.

These are so good! I haven't baked with them yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Definitely worth the extra money since I can't find them in stores at this time. I'm thinking of buying more, especially since they arrived quicker than anticipated.da*Edited to add, I purchased the bag from Clabber Girl for $8.49, not the higher price gouging I see for $29.99. There is always someone out there trying to take advantage of a situation.

I truly expected to taste Bailey's Irish Creme and was very disappointed. I bought the chips because of a cheesecake recipe in a magazine. Don't bother making it, it's awful, I had to throw it away. If it doesn't taste very good, it's a horrible waste of calories. Unfortunately I bought two bags. Guess I'll try an old fashioned "chocolate" chip cookie recipe to get rid of the second bag. Even trying just the chip, there's no taste of Bailey's---to my palate at least.

The flavor of the chips is not the issue. The recipe on the bag is WRONG. If you follow it, it is a disaster dough and if you even try to form and bake it into cookies, they are hockey pucks. I threw out the whole first bag/batch I made, thinking I did something wrong. Nope, 2nd bag came out the same, threw them all out. I pulled out a copy of original toll house cookies and used that- they came out perfect. Comparing the recepies, I believe the Baileys error is the amount of butter, it only says 1/2c, it should be1c.

These chips would be great in any cookie or cake calling for chocolate chips, but my wife followed the package recipe exactly, and the result was a uniquely flavored cookie with a nice crunch and a chewy center. They are pretty expensive but worth it for a special treat. Maybe when they are available in grocery stores, the price will moderate a bit.
