Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie 1

This romantic manga follows the high school adventures of Izumi, a shy guy who’s a bit clumsy and his cute pink-haired girlfriend Shikimori always by his side. On the outside, they basically look like your average puppy-love high school couple, but it’s definitely more than that. She may look cute, but Shikimori has a bold, daring personality that’ll turn in an instant when she helps her boyfriend. We see them do many things couples do like going to the movies, skiing together and meeting his parents.It does have a few flaws, yet “Shikimori” is a entertaining and feel-good love story that’s as sweet as bubblegum. Shikimori is “the” best part as her personality flips are just so cool and funny as she definitely shows she’s not just a pretty face. The flaws now are that it’s story doesn’t really feel grounded yet with it’s very short chapters being about a few pages each, and Izumi’s clumsiness getting dull at times. I’m still eager to see where their romance will go and more of Shikimori’s boldness. <b>B+ (83%/Very Good)</b>

Just remarkably cute. Worth every penny and every minute of time reading. I would recommend it to everyone. I love how different it is as well

He may have bad luck in everything else, but the Gods of love are watching out for him. I can't wait to see what he gets up to in volume 2.

Not good...Ok, so before I start, you must know that I'm a sucker for a good romance or a rom-com. It's my favorite genre for sure.The bad (what I didn't like) -- Role reversal (MC acts like a girlfriend and the FMC like a boyfriend)- The show is too sappy.- The MC is too weak and I mean toooooo weak..!!!- There's no plot to speak of- Zero chemistry between the main couple- I didn't care much for the side characters- Lack of physical affection between the main coupleThe good (what I did like) -- Great OP- Great animation- Izumi 'steal your girl ' MotokoFinal thoughts -My biggest issue with the show was the main couple and that is because they don't behave like one. They are both supposed to be 17 yet they behave like they are still in kindergarten, they have little to no physical affection, and they blush from the dumbest things, plus they don't have any chemistry or sexual tension at all. Other than that the show felt like a bait and switch to me, I mean, how is this show a Shonen? it should be a Shojo for sure, it's definitely directed towards girls than boys. All they did was take the female and the male and switch their roles and called it a Shonen.

Wholesome AF

Book came obviously used and damaged - no seal, bent corners, rips, back cover was stuck opened like it had been read before, and it looked like it was stepped on by a dirty shoe. Will update when replacement arrives, but this was very disappointing when I expected a pristine new copy. My Dress-Up Darling arrived clean and new on the same day…EDIT: Second copy did come damaged very similarly, didnt want to deal with returning both. Very disappointed

I got this book when it first came out and I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It's very nice to see the gender stereotypes switched up a bit with the main character, a boy, being more on the feminine side. His girlfriend more on the masculine side always protecting and looking out for him. 10/10 would recommend giving a read.

This was a really cute read!Though in the beginning, I honestly didn’t know what my thoughts would be on it. But as I continued reading, I was totally caught off guard by the extremely small chapters. I mean, the first chapter alone was four pages and was shocked by that!But once I got into a “rhythm” when reading (and ignoring how many times Izunami says “My girlfriend is a real cutie.”), I enjoyed it quite a bit. They are an ADORABLE couple and I found the mix of a boy with insanely bad luck and a cute girl who can turn “the coolest” in a heartbeat was fun!Despite that the chapters are short and more episodic like (though I found I enjoyed that because it made it a fast read), there is a continuous story and I loved seeing their romance bloom as the story progresses. My favorite chapter was number fifteen because seeing Shikimori drop her guard was so stinking cute! Also, the family scene was really touching.I might have been uncertain how I would feel about this story in the beginning, but I am already looking forward to book two! It’s a fun story that in my opinion flips some of the “tropes” in manga I’ve read and definitely want to see what happens next!*(I received an e-copy from the publisher via Netgalley. Brillaint Manga, this Manga could be carried by the artwork alone and yet! Everything is just phenomenal the whole premise and style brings the characters and comedy to life! And those little scenes of Shikimori teasing Izumi are just hilarious but also spicy 10/10!

I bought this book and it had scratches and was bended everywhere, the spine of the book had Mark's, this clearly wasnt as accident, how do you damage a book this much

This manga series disappointed me because I personally didn't like the male . He acts in such a lame way that I thought I was reading a yuri manga . Shikimori is a cool character but I cannot feel the love she has for her boyfriend. Also I didn't like the structure of this manga series. It confused me sometimes but most importantly I don't think it fits romance , slice of life manga . To be more specific this manga series has the same structure as the manga called Seitokai Yakuindomo in which each chapter is separate story and most of the time don't have a connection between them but in Seitokai Yakuindomo the setting and the fact that it is a comedy manga , it doesn't bother you when you have this kind of structure. Although the publisher states that ''A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can't Communicate!'' be careful , I don't read Nagatoro san but if you are a Komi can't communicate fan like me don't except this manga (Shikimori manga) to be anything like Komi or something similar that will make you interested . Don't be fooled , be careful
