Just found out about this accidentally on YT, "this is superb, why am I just learning about these things after all my years?" Next, I'm here buying this. Sure, you can pay more for these Butter Bells if you want to.No real need, this one is perfectly adequate.This plain black style fits in with everything. It's about the size of a decent brew mug.Fill the Base Cup bit with cold water up to the line, then press in chunks of Butter into the Bell bit. I used the back of a spoon. Pressing out any air pockets. No, it won't quite take a 250 g block. The Butter remains. Like magic, couldn't be simpler. Ready to go.Left it overnight before its first use. I don't know why, seemed like a good idea.I found the Butter perfectly soft & easy to spread, even on fresh slices of Bread without pulling it apart.Wish I'd found this thing sooner.

It's a butter dish, it holds butter, it holds butter well, I needed a back butter dish to match the other kitchen utensils... this is black and does the job.. This butter dish is so good at holding butter I would recommend it to all people looking for a butter dish that is black.

Having received this and put it straight into use, it has been great !Thd butter is kept at the right temperature and is always easy to spread.I have recommended this to friends and family who have also purchased one.

This is a lovely design, really sturdy and a lovely colour. I purchased to to replace a broken dish that I had for years.Unfortunately, it doesn't hold the butter in the lid and whilst the butter goes in cold and it's not in any direct light, the butter ends up falling into the water in the dish. Very frustrating as it's supposed to preserve the butter in warmer weather. I will see how well it does over the winter months.

This butter dish is a lovely colour and the base can go in the microwave, which is a godsend in the cooler parts of the year. Sadly, the lid doesn’t fit correctly, and fundamentally it is too wide so I can’t pick it up with one hand as the lid comes away and I would drop the dish. I have to pick it up using two hands, holding the base of the dish at the ends. Even my husband, who is over 6 foot and has large hands struggles to lift from above, due to the lid not being fixed into the dish. A great pity as I had hoped to buy one or two more. I will have to look for a different option.

Nice dish

This is a very nice, heavy butter dish. The only problem is with the seal, as others have mentioned. It doesn’t work at all. No matter how you use it, the lid just keeps lifting and does not form a tight seal as stated. I have now removed the seal and am very happy with it. I would have complained/returned it, but it is still lovely without the seal. I just cannot understand why they sell it like it is when it’s evident it doesn’t work properly. A minor irritation, but if you want a dish that seals tight, don’t purchase this one!

This is quality, looks good but doesn’t fit all sizes of butter. I bought a standard pack and had to wait for it to go soft to push it in
