Wiring faults are indicated by one or more of the LEDs failing to illuminate, with the pattern of lit LEDs indicating the type of Fault detected. This fail-safe system means that any LED not lit indicates a Fault. The robust ABS housing has a sculpted shape for easy removal and there is a look up chart on the tester for quick Fault diagnosis. The plug induces less than 5 mA of earth leakage, below RCD trip thresholds. It also detects 28 Fault conditions.

Safety First
As I am wiring new lights thought it best to purchase one of these and the reviews of this particular make impressed .Easy to understand and on first use help me avoid a nasty shock .For some odd reason my downstairs breaker when switched off turn off what I thought was all sockets , in fact 3 out of the four in sitting room were all off , however I had plugged this device into the socket I was spurring off ( using a fused connector )and it was clear that this particular socket was still live .After investigation at Consumer box this one socket had a breaker all to itself for some odd reasonAccident avoided work could take place safelySo glad I had this .

Martindale socket tester
Brilliant bit of kit. Does exactly what it says. Used it for finding an earth fault and found a reversed socket in the kitchen whilst checking. Definitely worth buying.
