Tunze3163.000 Streamfilter

I had two of these in my larger water box aquarium. Can't use much filter material as cavitation occurs. If cavitation occurs eventually the impeller goes out of balance and needs to be replaced. Happened to both units eventually in coarse of less than a year.

very happy with the pump...I think it is the most powerful internal filter available...I have 180 gallon tank with thick glass and magnets are strong enough to hold the filter in place and changing and cleaning filter is very quick and easy..I do it while the filter is running but with lower water line than the upper intake slots...this way dirt does not get pushed back out into the aquariumI also inserted 200 watt heater..which is longer than the space allowed for the heater but works fine...I just placed the filter deeper in the tank so the heater is submerged

I run this on a 27 cube mixed reef. Like a lot of aquarium equipment, it can be finicky and it needs regular maintenance (especially important to clean the pump/powerhead regularly). When taken apart, it only goes back together one way and the least deviation from that will cause fit problems with the case. Good idea to study the diagrams in the manual to learn how to deal with the power cord when reassembling. If you pay attention to those details, it works well. I run it with regular filter floss and Chemi-pure Blue filter media. I have only found one heater (Sera 75W) that works in the chamber provided. It's enough for my 27, but I use a controller and turn the dial on the heater a little higher than normal.

This filter is cheaply built and needs to be adjusted to keep its suction optimal daily. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this. Save your money and build a homemade sump.
