Young bedding plants, especially bizzie-lizzies, can be affected with large numbers of small flies covering young plants, whilst larvae eat the roots. The Sciarid flies crawl over the compost surface and if disturbed fly off. The larval stage in the compost attacks the roots and can kill young seedlings. To treat Sciarid fly, mix the nematodes with water and water directly into the affected pots / trays. Each pack of nematodes pack will treat up to 15 sqm of compost. For smaller areas just make the solution stronger (you cannot overdose). Works like a charm!
I tried various ways to get rid of a fungus gnat infestation that terrorised my houseplants for months. I tried traps, I tried cinnamon, I tried diatomaceous earth, nothing worked! I finally resorted to using these nematodes (which seemed icky to me, but I was desperate). In two weeks the problem was gone! This is a great, effective solution for fungus gnats.

Not a single one left after 1 treatment
I had an infestation of fungus gnats/sciarid flies in an enclosed terrarium. They multiplied quickly and they had completely taken over the terrarium. I followed the included instructions and applied the treatment to the entire terrarium and after around 2 weeks there were none seen flying around anymore.Unsure of the side effects of the existence of these nematodes inside my terrarium as of yet though.

Good stuff.
One little box goes a long way. It certainly seems to have worked. As the Sciarid Fly targets the larve, I used it along with the yellow sticky patches to catch the adult fungus gnats. I kept changing the yellow patches with fresh ones week after week and after 3 to 4 weeks, I seem to have got rid of the infestation.

no more fungus gnats/ fruit fly after 1 treatment
we were plagued by little black flies from our houseplants. after a couple of weeks there were noticeably less flies and now, after a couple of months there are none. Nothing else we tried would work and we thought we would have to throw all our plants out and start again. would thoroughly recommend this

It worked - the flies are gone
Cheap it ain't, but it worked. Remember to put it in the fridge when it arrives. I forgot and left it out for 3 days, but it still worked.

Product doesn't work
Used this product on all my plants and it hasn't worked or made a single difference to the flies that i have. Very disappointed as it clearly is not worth it for the price you have to pay.
